How do I register TotalMedia Theatre 5?

To register TotalMedia Theatre 5:

1.Select the Information Center icon located in the top control panel. The Information Center dialog box displays.

2.Click the large Registration button in the lower left panel.

3.Enter the required information.

4.Click Submit.

Another option to register TotalMedia Theatre 5:

1.Copy the Serial Number from the Splash/About screen.

2.Log into your ArcSoft account and select Software Registration.

3.Enter the required information.

4.Click Submit.

How do I download TM Remote from my Android phone?

You can download TM Remote directly from your Android phone or via your computer using a QR scanner. To download using a QR scanner, you must already have installed a QR scanning application onto your Android phone. If you do not have a QR scanning application, you can install one from the Android Market.

1.Start the Android Market application.

2.Scroll through the application icons to locate the TM Remote icon.

3.Tap the icon to start the downloading process. Once the application is downloaded, the TM Remote icon displays on your phone.

4.Tap the TM Remote icon. The install page displays, asking if you want to install this application. Click the Install button.

5.Tap Done to complete the installation. Tap Open to display TM Remote.

You can start using TM Remote immediately; no set up is needed.
Note: Make sure your WiFi is turned on, otherwise an error message displays.

How do I download TM Remote from my computer using a QR scanner?

You can download TM Remote via your computer using a QR scanner. To download using a QR scanner, you must already have installed a QR scanning application onto your Android phone. If you do not have a QR scanning application, you can install one from the Android Market.

1.Open the QR code scanner application on your Android phone.

2.From TotalMedia Theatre 5 product page, browse to the TM Remote section.

3.Point your phone at the QR code to scan it. TM Remote will be launched on theAndroid Market on your phone.

4.Tap the icon to start the downloading process. Once the application is downloaded, the TM Remote icon displays on your phone.

5.Tap the TM Remote icon. The install page displays, asking if you want to install this application. Click the Install button.

6.Tap Done to complete the installation. Tap Open to display TM Remote.

You can start using TM Remote immediately; no set up is needed.

Note: Make sure your WiFi is turned on, otherwise an error message displays.

How about I have download TM Remote into my mobile phone but it can’t see my computer?

It can be resolve by following steps:

1.check window7 firewall blocks all incoming connections or not

(1) Start—control panel – system and security –windows firewall – change notification settings

(2)Please don’t choose “Block all incoming connections, including those in the list of allowed programs” with Home and Public network.

(3)The right settings are shown in “win7_firewall_setting.jpg”. If your setting is right and android TM Remote can’t search you PC again. See step 2

2.TM Remote may not be added to you win7 firewall trust list. Don’t worry, we can add by ourselves:

(1) Start—control panel – system and security –windows firewall –- Advanced settings – Inbound Rules

(2) As shown in “Unadd_firewall_stustList.jpg”, Firewall stops the APP.

(3) Click properties that show in “Unadd_firewall_stustList.jpg”, then Allow the connection. Show as “add_firewall_trustList.jpg”.

(4) Click “ok”, android TM Remote can search PC. As shown in “work normal.jpg”.

How do I use TM Remote?

Once TM Remote is downloaded onto your Android phone, it can be used immediately. With WiFi turned on, the TM Server communicates with TotalMedia Theatre 5.

How do I remove TM server?

If you have no plans to use the TM Remote Android phone application, you can safely disable TM Server on your PC through the following method:

1.Select Start | All Programs (or just Programs depending on your operating system.)

2.Select the Startup folder

3.Right click on the TM Server shortcut in the Startup folder

4.Select Delete

5. Restart your system

How do I watch my 2D DVDs in 3D? (only available for vista and win7)

During movie playback, click to switch between 2D and 3D playback. Click to show the 3D Configuration settings shown below:
General Settings

Always play Blu-ray 3D™ movie in 3D mode

Check this option to automatically play Blu-ray 3D™ movies in 3D mode. Otherwise, ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theatre 5 will play Blu-ray 3D™ movies in 2D mode.

Always play movies and video files in 3D mode

Check this option to play all the supported movies types and video files in 3D mode.

Note: If neither of the above two options are checked, ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theatre 5 playback will be in 2D mode, and can’t be switched to 3D mode.

Source File Layout

Select the source file layout of your movie so ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theatre 5 can play it properly.

Auto Detect - When checked, ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theatre 5 will detect the source file layout and automatically play it in 3D mode. In a case of mis-detection, please try to manually set the source layout.

2D - Select this option when your source file is a 2D video/movie. ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theatre 5 will use Sim3D™ to convert the file to 3D in real-time.

Left/Right - Select this option when your source file already contains 3D images constructed by left and right images.

Top/Down - Select this option when your source file already contains 3D images constructed by top and bottom images.

Anaglyph - Select this option when your source file already contains 3D images constructed by red and cyan overlapped images.

Line Interleave - Select this option when your source file already contains 3D images alternating between left-eye and right-eye lines.

Four View - Select this option if source video contains 4 images. When you play the file in 2D, you should see a picture similar to the one here.

Depth Perception

Drag the Depth Perception slider to adjust the amount of depth in the video image.

Viewing Environment

Select your Display Configuration

Select your 3D playback equipment so ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theatre 5 can play the movie properly.

NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready Display - Select NVIDIA® 3D Vision™ Ready display like a HDMI 1.4 3D TV, 120Hz LCD display 3D projector, or 100Hz and higher analog CRT.

AMD HD3D Technology - Select this if your display is a HDMI 1.4 3D TV or 120Hz LCD display.

Micro-polarized 3D LCD - Select this if your display is a Micro-polarized LCD TV that supports Line Interleave 3D output.

3D Ready DLP HDTVs - Select this if your display is a 3D-ready DLP TV that supports Checkerboard output.

Other Display - Select this if your display is not a 3D-ready display.

Swap Left/Right image when you experience eyestrain in 3D mode

some displays may have swapped images between the left eye and right eye which can cause eyestrain when it reverses. Check this option if you experience eyestrain.

How do I watch videos from YouTube?

1.Click the Media Manager button and the Online tab located in the left panel to reveal several YouTube options.

2.Click the desired option and choose the video you’d like to watch.

3.Single-click to play the video at thumbnail preview size. Double-click the video to play it full size.

How do I set the playback quality for YouTube videos?

1.Click the Settings icon to display the Settings dialog box.

2.Click the Playback tab.

3.From the YouTube File Profile dropdown list box, select the desired playback quality.

4.Click the Apply and OK button.

How do I set the playback quality for my videos?

To set the settings for De-Noise, Dynamic Lighting, Sharpness, and Resolution Smoothness, you must first insert a DVD into your computer.

1.Click the small white arrow next to the SimHD button to display the SimHD Settings dialog box.

2.Deselect the Automatic checkbox and make sure the Enable checkbox is checked.

3.Select the desired checkbox for De-Noise, Dynamic Lighting, Sharpness, and Smoothness.

How do I view detailed information about my video or DVD?

Depending on the information needed, you can view detailed data either from the Smart Menu or Information tab.

The Smart Menu displays information on the currently playing DVD or video file without interrupting playback.

The Information tab displays several video and audio attributes such as media type and format, bitrate, frame rate, resolution aspect ratio, language, sampling frequency, bits per sample, and more. The Information popup displays some of the same basic info without interrupting the video.

1.To display the Smart Menu, click the icon, located on the bottom control panel. (Make sure a DVD or video file is playing in order to enable the Smart Menu.) For information on each command on the Smart Menu, please refer to the online Help or manual.

2.To display the Information tab, click the Settings icon, located in the top right corner of the main screen, to display the Settings dialog box. Click the Information tab to display the video and audio attributes.

How do I play two videos at one time?

To enable the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature, use the right-click menu. This function is only available when playing discs with PiP function support.

How do I set a bookmark to start a movie at my favorite scene?

Use the Smart Menu to set a bookmark. This feature mainly works for DVDs, since many Blu-ray discs do not support bookmarks.

1.To display the Smart Menu, click the icon, located on the bottom control panel. (Make sure a DVD or video file is playing in order to enable the Smart Menu.)

2.Click Add Bookmark to add a bookmark at the current point. All bookmark thumbnails for a movie are displayed in the Bookmark tab.

3.Click the desired thumbnail to play the movie.

How can a video file open automatically in TotalMedia Theatre 5 when double-clicking on it in Windows?

A variety of video formats is supported with ArcSoft TotalMedia® Theature 5 and listed on the File Association tab.
To select a specific video file format:

1.From the Settings dialog box, select the File Association tab.

2.Select the desired video file format or check the All checkbox.

3.Click Apply and then OK.

How do I capture images from my video file?

Use the Right-Click Menu/Capture command to capture a still image from the current video screen and save the image to a storage folder. This feature mainly works for DVDs, since many Blu-ray discs do not support capturing images. Note: If the movie content is protected, the Capture function is disabled.

To capture an image:

1.Select Capture or press P from the right-click menu to capture an image from the current video screen. The captured image is saved in the storage folder.

2.To set the folder location for saved images, click the Settings icon to display the Settings dialog box.

3.From the General tab, click the Change button to browse to the desired folder to save captured images.

4.Click Apply and OK.

How do I load external subtitles?

This feature is for video files only; Blu-ray discs and DVDs cannot load external subtitles.

To select a specific language as a subtitle:

1.From the Right-Click Menu, click Subtitles and the Add Subtitle submenu.

2.Browse to the desired file. Click Open.

How do I improve the sound and display of my video?

Use the AV Center to configure and adjust audio and video output for your playback. For more information on each feature, refer to the online help or user’s manual.

To adjust the sound and display for your video:

1.Click the AV Center button to display five tabs: Audio Output, Audio Effects, Equalizer, Display, and Video Effects.

2.Click the Audio Output tab to choose the audio output mode for the selected sound card.

3.Click the Audio Effects tab to increase the volume for your video when the system and program volume are already set to maximum. You can also choose an audio effect mode.

4.Click the Equalizer tab to boost low, mid-range, and high audio frequencies on the 10-band equalizer. Click and drag each band to adjust the level.

5.Click the Display tab to adjust video playback for a high-performance video card. You can also choose the Deinterlacing option if you are watching your movie on an LCD screen or an HDTV.

6.Click the Video Effects tab to change the brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation of your movie.

How do I change the language of the program?

You can set your favorite language for TotalMedia Theatre 5.

To set language options:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the General option.

3.From the UI Language drop-down list box, select the preferred language.

4.Click OK.

How do I change the folder for my captured images and bookmarks?

You can change the path to store captured images and bookmarks.
To select a new folder:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the General option.

3.Click the Change button next to the Captured Images and Bookmarks Storage drop-down list box and select a new folder.

4.Click OK on the Browse for Folder dialog box. Click OK on the Settings dialog box.

How do I set my video to automatically play in full screen?

Use the Playback settings tab to set movie playback options.
To set the full screen option:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the Playback option.

3.Check the Auto Full Screen checkbox to automatically switch to full screen mode when you start playing movies.

4.Click Apply and OK.

How do I change my movie playback options?

Use the Playback settings tab to set movie playback options. This feature is not available for Blu-ray discs. Other discs may not support the Auto-Resume feature or include similar functionality built-in to their disc navigation.
To change movie playback options:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the Playback option.

3.From the Auto-Resume drop-down list box, select the desired option.

4.Click Apply and OK.

How do I access the Internet?

You can enable BD-Java features to access the Internet.

To access the Internet:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the BD-Java option.

3.Check the Allow Access to Internet checkbox.

4.From the Certification drop-down list box, select the desired option.

5.Click Apply and OK.

How do I change the storage location for my BD-Live downloadable content?

To change to storage location:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the BD-Java option.

3.Click the Change button next to the BD-Live Download Storage box and select a new folder.

4.Click OK on the Browse for Folder dialog box.

5.Click Apply and OK on the Settings dialog box.

How do I set a password to restrict my children from watching R-rated movies?

To restrict specific movie levels and set a password:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the Parental Control option.

3.Select the movie level from the Level Setting drop-down list box.

4.Click the Set Password button to enter a password. Click OK.

5.Click Apply and OK on the Settings dialog box.

How do I display the current power supply?

To display the current power supply:

1.Display the Settings dialog box by clicking the Settings icon, located in the Top Control Panel.

2.Click the Power Manager option. The Power Status displays the power supply (AC Line or Battery) that your computer is currently using.

How do I register TotalMedia Theatre 5?

To register the software:

1.Click the Information Center icon, located in the top left side of the main screen, to display the Information Center dialog box.

2.Click the Registration button. Follow the online instructions.

How do I reposition and resize subtitles?

To reposition and resize the subtitles:

1.While the movie is playing and the subtitles are displayed, mouse-over the subtitle. A box surrounds the subtitle. Drag-n-drop the subtitle box to the desired location.

2.To resize the subtitle, use the scroll wheel on the mouse to increase or decrease the size of the letters.

3.Click the arrow icon to reset the text to normal.

How do I set TotalMedia Theatre 5 to automatically load external subtitles?

In order for TotalMedia Theatre 5 to automatically load external subtitles, the file name for the movie and the subtitle must match. Both files must be located in the same folder. For example, for the movie King Arthur, the filename kingarthur.wmv must match the subtitle file kingarthur.srt.

To rename the subtitle file name, from Windows Explorer, locate the subtitle file and rename it to match the movie name.

Why can’t find the 3D settings in my TMT5?

Win XP can’t support the Sim 3D, please upgrade your system to Win vista or Win 7.

Why can’t I enable the SimHD?

It probably due to the original file limit:

File type: .mpg or .mpeg

File format: MPEG 2

Maximal video resolution: 720 x 576 (DVD Resolution)

Video width and height: should be multiples of 16

How can I know whether my PC meets the requirement of TMT5 or not?

Can I possibly try to fix the issue by myself?

Yes, the methods include:

1. Installing the latest driver for your graphic card and sound card

2. Uninstall and reinstall the driver for your graphic card and sound card

3.Change another drive

What necessary information I can provide when I sent an E-mail to them?

My TMT5 remains in trial version though I have already pay for it, what to do?

Please COMPLETELY uninstall your current TMT and reinstall it by running the installer you downloaded from Arcsoft account -> my order history -> TMT -> Details -> step6 -> download

How can I get the backup CD?

Please contact 510-440-9901 and press option 2, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30am to 5:30pm PST to order a replacement disc. You will need to have your order number handy when you call for fast service.

Cannot activate TMT5 on a reinstall of the program

During the first install, ArcSoft connect requires the customer to personalize the software by entering a name. When the software is then purchased the activation code is associated to the personalization name. If during a reinstall the personalized information is changed, then the activation code will not work. ArcSoft has designed a tool to resolve this issue. What is Blu-ray Profile?

Blu-ray Disc Profile 1.0:

Only supports basic playback function.

Blu-ray Disc Profile 1.1:

Blu-ray Disc Profile 1.1 is also known as the Bonus View. Two new major features are the support of secondary video and audio decoder for Picture-in-Picture and the support of Blu-ray Disc content update, which uses 256 MB of local storage. It also allows the playback of high-definition movie content with multiple video streams, providing users with a real-time Picture-in-Picture viewing experience, such as watching the movie and video commentaries simultaneously. The ArcSoft BDAssistant tests your computer's playback ability for viewing these bonus features, and displays the results in the Advanced Playback tab.

Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0:

Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0 is also known as BD-Live. The new major features are the support of Internet-connected activities, which can use 1GB of local storage. It enables powerful Internet-connected activities, such as multiplayer gaming, e-commerce, movie trailer and subtitle downloading, and social networking. The Arcsoft BDAssistant will test your computer's playback capability for BD-Live and Network Capability, and display the results in the Advanced Playback tab.

Hardware Dual-Video Decoding (Dual hardware accelerate):

Blu-ray Discs use a different video compression than MPEG-2, H.264 or VC-1. Some graphics cards have the new feature that supports hardware dual-video decoding. But not all of graphics cards can support HD (High Definition) decoding of both video streams. The Arcsoft BDAssistant will test the Dual-Video (both primary video stream and secondary video stream) Decoding Capability of your graphics card for each of the video steams, and displays the results in the Advanced Playback tab.

Note: If the BDAssistant indicates that your compuer cannot succesfully playback Bonus View or BD Live items, your player may still be able to play back Blu-ray Discs, but it won't be able to play the special content that support Bonus View or BD-Live. To play this special content, you would need to update your player.

Problem installing Total Media Theater on Windows Vista

Try to change Windows DEP (Data Execution Prevention) settings. You can find this setting in Control Panel > System Properties > Advanced > Performance settings > Data Execution Prevention. Change from Turn on DEP for all programs to Turn on DEP for essential Widows programs and services only. Restart your PC and try again.

Does TotalMedia Theatre 5 support launching disc folders/rips in Media Center from 3rd party applications?

Yes, it does.

I downloaded the TMT5 trial but there is no sound. What am I doing wrong?

Only Dolby soundtracks are disabled on the trial version of TMT5. Movies with DTS sound should play Ok, the full version is absolutely no problem with that.

Why can’t I play DVD?

Firstly, you need to make sure that your DVD disc is clean and that it isn’t scratched.

Secondly, you need to make sure that the region code of your DVD disc is compatible with your optical drive.

Finally, you need to make sure that your DVD disc is not copy-protected. Due to reasons of intellectual property rights, our program does not support copy-protected discs.

What does S/PDIF mean in TotalMedia Theatre and how do I use it?

S/PDIF is known as Sony Philips Digital Interface. This mode is used to connect the output of a DVD player to a home theater that supports Dolby Digital or DTS Surround sound.

How do I change the settings to S/PDIF?

1.Click on Setup(Control + S) in the main screen.

2.Click on the Audio Tab

3.Under the Audio output dropdown highlight S/PDIF.

Where do I find my activation code in TotalMedia Theater?

If you purchased TMT directly from Arcsoft's website and received a e-mail with a download link, you may have the full version of TMT and it doesn't need a activation code. Only the trial version of TMT requires a activation code. Please unistall TMT and re-install it from the download link that was e-mailed to you.

Does TotalMedia Theater 3 play .MKV files?

TMT has basic support for .MKV files. Therefore, some files will play, but some files won't have all of the features. Your results will tend to be based on how much control you have in the way the MKV is created and how dependent you are on extras like multiple audio tracks, subtitles, menus, etc.

No sound when playing BD using SPDIF with Total Media Theater?

Go to Setup>Settings>Sound tab and make sure that ‘Enable Sound Mixer’is checked.

How do I update TotalMedia Theater?

Usually, when there is any update available, the icon will light up to notify the user to update.

What are disc images?

Disc image files, such as ISO, are often used when transferring CD or DVD ROM images over the Internet. An "image" in this case doesn't refer to photos or pictures; rather, it refers to a copy of an entire disc, stored as a single file.

There are several disc image file types or formats, some of which have some sort of deficiency. For example, the disc images may retain data only and disregard file placement. However, the program offers a proprietary file format (ADI). These disc image files contain not only the data files on a disc, but the exact layout of those files, their folder structures, read and write properties, and much more.

Can the video be adjusted within TotalMedia Theatre

CTRL-S brings up the Set Up screen. From the Video Tab select the advanced option. You can change the interlacing qualities. You can adjust the color from the advanced screen as well. You can select the preset color changes or you can select a particular adjustment.

Using the Time Stretch within TotalMedia Theatre?

1.Click on the Setup Icon (Control key + S).

2.Select the Video Tab

3.Click on the Advanced Button

4.Under the Time Stretch bar use the '-' or '+' to adjust the playback time/speed

Why does Color Adjustments within the software can not be made while hardware acceleration is turned on?

When you slect to have hardware acceleration turned on the frames will we displayed through the hardware, therefor software post productions will be disabled.
