What is Raw
RAW format is often considered as a single image file format, which is known as .raw files. As a matter of fact, there are a variety of different types for RAW format depending on the different digital devices (such as digital cameras and scanners): Canon (.CRW, .CR2), Adobe (.DNG), Casio (.RAW), Fuji (.RAF), and etc. We will talk about how to deal with the RAW files from Canon cameras in this article.
Canon CRW file format (CRW), is written in Camera Image File Format (CIFF), which is an original RAW format used in some of the early Canon cameras. Currently, Canon uses two different kinds of RAW formats: .CRW and .CR2. Some of the recent Canon camera models produce CR2 format instead of CRW files.
